The UNGA Lasts For Two Weeks.

Well, strictly speaking the UN General Assembly lasts for 52 weeks. However the opening gala lasts for two weeks. I assume it's included a workshop on media regulation in the digital age. In Britain today has been a terrible day for journalism. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-49883952 Munchetty's personal bias has caused her to completely misrepresent the story. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5905247/Girl-Bronx-Alexandria-Ocasio-Cortez-actually-grew-wealthy-Westchester-County.html Something which was utterly unforgivable in an Ambassador. https://news.sky.com/story/pm-tory-conference-not-overshadowed-by-the-allegations-against-me-11823715 Not to notice that these accusations are being made. Just as Remainers are running out of road. Alcohol and Coke is a Dangerous Combination.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-49814269 Just ask those 11 Supreme Court Justices. It caused them to throw away their careers. In the prorogation case they attempted to draw power from the precedent in Case of Proclamations (1610). That case was decided by Chief Justice Sir Edward Coke. The same Coke who was a vocal opponent of the principle of Parliamentary Supremacy (Over the Courts). Later writing in Day v Savadge (1615); "Even an Act of Parliament, made against natural equity is void in itself." However Coke went on to change his mind. Becoming a supporter of Parliamentary Supremacy (Over the Courts). So not only was the precedent in the Case of Proclamations (1610) vacated by statute. In the Bill of Rights (1689). It was also disowned by its author.

This Again.

Immediately after writing my previous post I went to log on to the BBC News website. Instead my PC took me straight to the Southern Rail Twitter account. Detailing all the delays the network is currently undergoing. Which of course doesn't solve the toxic culture which has been allowed to develop at Twitter.

Today is a New Day.

September 30th 2019 (30/9/19). And I think I'm going to spend most of it marvelling at how out of condition I've become.

And Finally it Rings Out.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9Hqy8n3BcqA I'm sorry. Not even I can be that drunk at 9 o'clock in the morning. There were preceedings.

But are of little interest to anyone else; My Knee. Last Sunday's gym session worked like magic. The next couple of days it was instantly no stiffness. No pain. So last Thursday (26/9/19) I tried another 10 minutes. At the next highest resistance. That might've slightly pushed my luck. But regardless. Today I tried 20 minutes at the same resistance. I await tomorrow. Amid prayers, ice & dreams of Newtonmetres.

That would certainly impugne  the EU's motives in going after Hungary and, particularly, Poland. In case you were wondering America doesn't have a concept of Parliamentary Supremacy (Over the Courts). Largely on account of it lacking a Parliament. However the US does have the concept of; "Legislative Supremacy (Over the Courts)." Strictly speaking SCOTUS does not overturn legislation. SCOTUS merely interprets the US Constitution. It is the US Constitution that overturns legislation. As it's role as the supreme legislation. That supreme legislation can be altered by the people. Through the election of a Senate. And a consenting House. Subject to the further assent of each State. Where referendums are...

Today is a New Day.

September 27th 2019 (27/9/19). I see BBC are currently grasping at straws. Desperately insisting that the Benn Bill is the Benn Act and now law. The problem is that the document which gave the Benn Bill Royal Assent is the same document which prorogued Parliament. The Supreme Court and Parliamentarians are insisting that document is in fact null and void. So the Master of Rolls really does need to provide clarity on that particular issue.

Surely it's to throw a gay from a tall building. Then blow up a concert venue. And if find that objectionable I urge you to pursue the matter through the Courts. You May Not Question the Dictatorship!

Brexit has caused a small group of British MP's and Judges to literally cash in the Bill of Rights (1689). This has had the effect of declaring the Glorious Revolution to have resumed. Ended by the adoption of the Bill of Rights this sometimes more properly described as The Third Civil War. In doing this those MP's and Judges seem to have forgotten the golden rule; When you declare war the first thing you give up is your own security. They are now attempting to quash any questioning or criticism of their actions by declaring such comments to be hate speech. September 26th 2019 (26/9/19). And I'm already on to the next thing.

Another Myth Debunked.

Britain has been conducting the sort of constitutional bonfire that would terrify the Reichstag. Meanwhile America has been gripped by drama of its own. An intelligence community whisteblower claimed that US President Trump had pressured (((Ukrainian))) President Zalensky. In a phonecall in July 2019. Specifically by threatening to withhold US military aid unless an investigation was opened into Bursima. An oil company which just so happens to have the son of former US VP Joe Biden among its directors. This saga has forced the US to release a transcript of the phonecall. A significant breach of the diplomatic protocol that private conversations between Heads of Government/State are not made public. The transcript reveals the whistleblowers claims to be a, presumably malicious, lie. US military aid was not raised at all. Trump did not ask for an investigation to be opened. It would have been impossible to do so. That investigation has already been opened in April 2019. I...

The UK Parliament Remains Prorogued.

I'll attempt to do a proper version tomorrow. However on the issue the Supreme Court has attempted to legislate from the bench. Specifically attempting to rewrite the section of the 1689 Bill of Rights relating to freedom of Parliamentary speech (proceedings). Amending or scrapping a law is simply not within the power of any UK Court. Not even the Supreme Court. As for the notion that a Court can even consider, let alone, overturn a Parliamentary proceeding. Even on the grounds of fraud or deception. With Parliamentary proceedings frequently costing private citizens money many have tried that argument over the centuries. Time and time again it has been found invalid and rejected. So the Supreme Court did not hand down a legal ruling or make any sort of legal order yesterday. To paraphrase Lady Justice Hale; "It is as if the Court has presented nothing but a blank sheet of paper. " So The Clash song the SNP were looking for was not; "I Fought the L...

September 25th 2019 (25/9/19). But seriously, did no-one watch that recent BBC documentary series; "The Rise of the Nazis." There was an election. They came second. So they invented a national crisis to allow them to seize power. Then no more elections.

Later a small group of extremists will attempt a mass trespass at the Palace of Westminster. As usual they will be led by a short, angry man. Deeply committed to a united Europe.

Peak Existentialism!

Britain has decided that it is exiting the European Union (EU). You would think this Brexit process would be rather dull. Focused on the dry, technical matters of Britain's political and legal relationship with 27 other nations. Apparently not though. To some Brexit seems to a deeply existential matter. Whether you are a Leaver or a Remainer defines not just who you are as a person but whether you are even a person at all. It almost goes without saying that those who identify as Remainers have not approached Brexit at all rationally. Instead responding with the sort of zeal you would expect as if Islam or Hinduism had suddenly been made illegal. Today the UK Supreme Court has addressed a Remainer challenge to the prorogation of Parliament. So great was its bias towards the appellants the Supreme Court has ended up declaring that it, itself, does not exist. https://twitterwithbraincells.blogspot.com/2019/09/uk-supreme-court-dissolves-self.html Fortunately this is n...

Ah, Yes; "Wiffed."

The British verb traditionally used to describe the Supreme Court's approach to the prorogation question. As in; "Jofra Archer's wiffed at that." "And knocked himself out."

Lady Justice Hale Does Not Oppose the Idea of a Monarchy.

She merely opposes the idea that she is not the Monarch. The spider without a web as it were. Or at least some on her bench do. Although if that was the case surely she would've chosen to wear pure plum. The key quote being; "It as if the Royal Commissioners had entered {Parliament} with a blank piece of paper." Said piece of paper also claimed to carry Royal Assent for the Benn Bill. Although that's probably the least of the constitutional catastrophe Britain's just inflicted on it.

No Elections Ever Again?

I honestly think we should stop reporting that the UK Supreme Court has delivered its ruling on the prorogation of Parliament. It is going to make it much harder for them when they recover their senses and ask for a do-over. If applied retroactively today's, well outburst, means that Britain has not had a functioning government since at least 1997. Meaning there was no legal mechanism to establish the Supreme Court. Even if only applied moving forward it still causes a massive constitutional crisis. It has overturned an Order of Council. An Order of Council is the only mechanism by which the House of Commons can be dissolved and a General Election can be held. At worst the Supreme Court has declared that there is no mechanism by which a General Election can be called. At best it has declared that MP's who do not wish to submit themselves to re-election can simply refuse and overturn the calling of a General Election. At least now though everyone finally unders...

It's Twitter Day Again.

The first of the new UNGA. I wasn't expecting much. And I wasn't disappointed.

UK Supreme Court Dissolves Self.

Today is a New Day. September 24th 2019 (24/9/19). One on which the UK Supreme Court has ruled that it does have the power to rule on the lawfulness of the prorogation of Parliament. It has also ruled that if a prorogation of Parliament occurs because for political purpose it is unlawful. Furthermore it has ruled that any effect of an unlawful prorogation of Parliament is null and void. In criminal law this is known as the; "Fruit of the Poisoned Tree" argument. I though am minded to think of when a computer operating system becomes corrupted. Forcing you to reset the system to a point before it became corrupted. The UK Parliament was prorogued for political purpose, and therefore unlawfully, just prior to the 1997 General Election. Today's ruling declares the 1997 General Election to be null and void. Along with any action of any pretender Parliament which has attempted to sit since then. Actions taken by post-1997 Parliaments include; The 1998 Good F...

On Saturday (21/9/19) my PC got hacked. Someone reconfigured the operating system preventing it from loading. I've spent most of today sorting that out. So I'll do a proper version in the fullness of time. However it seems to be related to the current frenzy going on in the US. Over a phonecall between President Trump and Ukrainian President Zelensky. Which apparently so alarmed a member of the US intelligence community they were moved to act as a whistleblower. This all stems from the behaviour of former US Vice President Joe Biden. In 2016 Joe Biden demanded that then Ukrainian President Poroshenko fire the senior prosecutor Viktor Shokin. Who just happened to be investigating the oil company Burisma and its executives. Including Hunter Biden. Joe Biden's son. To make sure Shokin was fired Joe Biden threatened to withhold billions of dollars in loan guarantees. That is a well established matter of public record. Joe Biden has boasted about doing it in front ...

It's Certainly an Interesting Question.

As you may have heard the UK Supreme Court has been exploring a series of questions. Firstly whether it can rule on the prorogation of Parliament. Then, if it can, whether the current prorogation of Parliament was politically motivated. Finally if it is illegal to prorouge Parliament for political reasons. The UK Parliament has been proroged for political reasons. In 1938, 1946 and, most recently just prior to the 1997 General Election. The 1997 General Election was one by Tony Blair's Labour Party. Leading to House of Lords reform and the creation of the UK Supreme Court. So if the Supreme Court does rule the prorogation of Parliament illegal surely that means the 1997 General Election was illegal. Rendering the Supreme Court itself illegal.

Today is a New Day.

September 19th 2019 (19/9/19). And BBC News have no finally lost interest in the arguments over the prorogation of Parliament before the UK Supreme Court. Just in time for former Prime Minister John Major to claim that proroguing Parliament for political reasons is wrong. Neatly forgetting that in 1997 he prorogued Parliament to prevent his government being brought down by the cash-for-questions scandal. https://fullfact.org/online/john-major-proroguing/

I'll State the Obvious Then.

Over the weekend there were attacks on the Abqaiq and Khurais oil facilities in Saudi Arabia. The US claims the attacks were launched from the Iranian side of the Iran/Iraq border. Today Saudi Arabia announced the type of drone/UACV used in the attack. The US hasn't given the specific location of the launch site. However it is in the area around the Iranian city of Abadan. This is around 950km (570 miles) from Abqaiq. The drones have been identified as Saegah-2's. These have a range of 450km (270 miles).

Today is a New Day

September 18th 2019 (18/9/19). And I have to say that I'm a bit surprised. Yesterday all the news channels were giving constant live coverage of proceedings in the Supreme Court. Today they're still giving constant live coverage of proceedings in the Supreme Court. Yesterday saw the appellants (Remain) put forward their case. While today has seen the respondents (Leave) put forward their case. I expected the BBC at least to heroically bow to public pressure and significantly reduce their coverage today. I suppose though this is the TV News equivalent of sticking a DVD on and heading off to the beach.

Israel's Been Having An Election.

Israel of course hosted the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest. As hosts their entry referenced the Jewish Home Party. A small part of the United Right Coalition. In turn the United Right Coalition are/were a small part of the wider Likud led coalition of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. This particular election has been triggered by a dispute between the United Right Coalition and the Israel Our Home (Yisrael Beitneiu) Party of Avigdor Lieberman. Another small part of the Likud led coalition. The United Right Coalition are religious Zionists. Meaning they want an expanded Israel run in accordance with Jewish law. Yisrael Beiteinu however are secular Zionists. Meaning they want an expanded Israel. But one run in accordance with secular law. Officially the dispute is over the taxpayer funded stipend paid to Ultra-Orthodox Jewish men to study Judaism. Rather than working. The United Right are obviously in favour. While Lieberman is opposed. Although some of you may have detec...

Today is a New Day.

September 16th 2019 (16/9/19). And should probably tidy that up; Over the weekend two oil facilities were attacked and damaged in Saudi Arabia. The Abqaiq facility has the capacity to produce around 5% of the global oil supply. This attack seems to have removed about half of its capacity. Or 2.5% of the global oil supply. For the last four or five years Saudi Arabia has been intentionally oversupplying oil creating a glut in the market. Specifically to drive down prices to below the cost of production for many rival suppliers. So although it sounds dramatic these attacks are unlikely to have a significant impact on the global oil supply. There is already plenty of slack in the system. However it was enough to spook the oil markets. At the opening of markets in Asia the price of a barrel of the benchmark Brent Crude jumped from $60 to $70. This prompted the US to pledge to open its strategic oil reserve if needed. I was reading about this on the BBC website. When I spotted...

A Quick Guide to Contingency Planning.

You start by brainstorming the absolute worse case scenario. So you identify what would happen if an earthquake, hurricane, nuclear meltdown and terror attack occur all at the same time. You then enter into a second phase. In which you draw up action plans to mitigate that absolute worse case scenario. Operation Yellowhammer is the first part of that process. Blue sky thinking where nothing a dismissed as utterly unlikely. Yellowhammer was replaced by Operation Redfold - the second phase - all the way back in March 2019. September 10th 2019 (10/9/19). Do you know who I really feel sorry for after yesterday? Hilary Benn. It's the ultimate white privilege thing. How is he meant to learn from his mistakes. I mean, this pretty much sums up his political week; https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/sydenham-shooting-london-victim-met-police-latest-a9097221.html Yet he's still going to be boasting about his massive achievement. And he's really the absolute best the Labour Party has to offer. Anyway I've got a feeling Britain will be seeking a Brexit extension until January 31st 2020. On condition the next EU President is a horse.

Having passed the Lords the bill now returns to the Commons. Only if the Commons confirms the bill will it be set/sent to gain Royal Assent. One would assume that having been granted time for consideration the sponsor will have noticed their glaring error and withdraw it. A small group of journalists using their position to lobby for the bill to receive Royal Assent certainly violates the legal requirement for due impartiality in TV news. Numbers Don't Lie.

On January 16th 2019 (16/1/9) the Brexit Withdrawal Agreement was rejected by 432 British MP's. On March 13th 2019 (13/3/19) the Brexit Withdrawal Agreement was rejected by 391 MP's. Today (3/9/19) 328 British MP's voted to allow debate of Benn's Bill to give the EU total control whether Britain Remains a member. Is this really an issue that requires further analysis? They've a point though; No matter how many Americans get slaughtered the Mueller report problem s going to keep flaring up. Until the burn notice is issued.

A Note on Terminology.

Once again a small group of MP's are trying to block Britain's exit from the EU. They are being referred to as; "Opponents of No Deal." However there was a deal. These same MP's rejected it. So surely the accurate way to describe them is: "Opponents of Brexit." Perhaps this "Rebel Alliance" should be described in the original Sango as; "Seleka."  Because the Central African Republic is really the level they've dragged British democracy down to.

Worrying News.

Today is a New Day.

September 2nd 2019 (2/9/19). One in which I'll be focusing on my rehab while waiting for my tablet to charge. Yes, that's right. My knee injury was so bad I've had to devise a rehab program. A light exercise regime focused entirely on one small group of muscles and ligaments.

My Considered Opinion on VAR.

Today is a New Day.

The 1st of September 2019 (1/9/19). And has the Mueller report become any more credible overnight?
