Are We Sure It Wasn't An A.I Filter?

The first Satellite wasn't launched until 1957. The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) was founded in 1950 as a way for members to share and advance broadcasting technology. Something which remains its main purpose to this day. By 1956 the EBU had advanced technology to the point they thought they could broadcast a live TV program across the continent. To solve the problem of what to point the cameras and microphones at the Song Contest was born. By the 1970's the EBU thought it would be able to broadcast a live TV program across the continent and all the way to Australia. After 30 or so years they finally let Australia do more than watch. Every year at least one thing tries to disprove the EBU's technical abilities. Not just on the 70th anniversary.
