Britain's On The Hard Road Now.

https://twitterwithbraincells.blogspot.com/2026/05/is-anyone-expecting-arsenal-to-even.html I got bored of waiting for them a got my TV repaired, for all of £90. Which is significantly less than any of all those Hisense TV's which were suddenly stacked up at the nearby Supermarket/Big Box store. The sort of special delivery you might have found yourself nudged towards, if you have a touch of the Netanyahus about you. It turns out my prima facie diagnosis was correct. A fluctuation in current causing a short-circuit in the LCD Driver/control board. As if it's someone's first day(!) If I'd been able to find the replacement part I could probably have repaired it myself, for all of £20. However with it not being my TV if that 1% of doubt I had proved to be correct, I would never have heard the end of it. The guy who did repaired it actually repaired the short-circuit on the board, rather than sourcing a replacement. So was able to do it in a couple of hours for about £5. Ho...

Today is a New Day.

Saturday September 5th 2026 (5/9/26). I'm starting to think the Cold which stopped me from going to the gym for several weeks cost me more than several weeks at the gym.

One, Very Single Religious Nutter.

If the Prosecution felt that strongly about it they could have insisted upon a simple Trial of the Facts. During any one of the several years she was unable to participate in this dimension, let alone her own defence. As the result of a universally recognised medical condition she sought treatment for, on multiple occasions. Yet was still able to progress far beyond merely; "Feeling a bit Sad."

I Feel Even Prouder Of My Sunday Night Thought Process Now!

"I just want to give PONIES a try and go to bed. I suppose I'd best do this instead though." https://www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/ponies/s01/e01 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLlYUlS_Awo (Second Hand News, Fleetwood Mac, 2004, Official Audio). Then there are those Wren™ Kitchen/Bathroom commercials. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0hGhl7ki3HM (Don't Stop, Fleetwood Mac, 2004, Official Audio). Where they seem to have a contract with allows them to run two every break. Not one after the other. With a spacer, obviously. As if you're going to lay it yourself(!)

It's Something Cyprus' 2025 Eurovision Entry Forced Me To Learn.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=egPAiAuC57k (Shh, Theo Evan, Cyprus, First Semi-Final, Video, Eurovision Song Contest). It goes to the fashion of parents using exotic foreign words as names for their children. Often to the amusement of speakers of that language. Noah Cyrus, and her family, has provided the Eurovision community with many endless hours of entertainment. The exotic feminine Hebrew name they were aiming for was; "Noa." However they missed and landed her with the masculine; "Noah." Perhaps an even more hilarious example is Danny Masterson and Bijou Phillips. Who named their daughter; "Fianna." Convinced by all those baby name books that it's a beautiful Irish-Gaelic name meaning; "Deer." It really doesn't. It means; "Army," or a plurality of soldiers. The main Irish centre-left party is; "Fianna Fail," or; "Soldiers of Ireland." Naming your daughter; "Army" is just setting her up for a l...

They Still Want All Of Their Eggs In The Never Going To Happen Basket Then.

As I really hope everyone in the Developed World has noticed. Typically you flush a toilet by depressing a handle on the front of what's known as a cistern. If you lift up the lid of the cistern and look you'll seen that handle is attached to a spindle. That spindle is attached to plastic lever arm which, in turn, is attached to a hook. When you press the handle down that hook lifts a plunger which opens a valve. Causing the cistern to, well, "flush" into the toilet bowl emptying it. Unless that little bit of plastic snaps, due to being millions of years old. Which is exactly what happened to me yesterday afternoon. Of course you can still flush the toilet by pulling on the hook to lift the plunger and open the valve. Although that is quite annoying. So I immediately went on a hardware store's website to source a new one. Unfortunately; "Lever Arm" isn't a particularly specific part name. So I had to go on a bit of a cyber wander through the Plumbing...
