On Saturday (21/9/19) my PC got hacked. Someone reconfigured the operating system preventing it from loading.
I've spent most of today sorting that out. So I'll do a proper version in the fullness of time.
However it seems to be related to the current frenzy going on in the US.
Over a phonecall between President Trump and Ukrainian President Zelensky. Which apparently so alarmed a member of the US intelligence community they were moved to act as a whistleblower.
This all stems from the behaviour of former US Vice President Joe Biden.
In 2016 Joe Biden demanded that then Ukrainian President Poroshenko fire the senior prosecutor Viktor Shokin. Who just happened to be investigating the oil company Burisma and its executives. Including Hunter Biden. Joe Biden's son.
To make sure Shokin was fired Joe Biden threatened to withhold billions of dollars in loan guarantees.
That is a well established matter of public record. Joe Biden has boasted about doing it in front TV cameras and thousands of witnesses.
Shokin was fired and replaced by Yuriy Lutshenko. Lutshenko promptly released what is known as the; "Black Ledger."
The release of this Black Ledger forced Paul Manafort to resign as then Candidate Trump's campaign manager. It was central to Manafort's prosecution by Special Counsel Robert Mueller.
Excluding obstruction charges Manafort's is the only conviction Mueller has been able to secure. Despite persistent rumours the evidence supplied by Lutshenko was fabricated.
Corruption is a massive issue within Ukranian politics. So while America has been gripped by Mueller in Ukraine investigations into Biden/Lutshenko have continued.
In December 2018 a Kiev Court ruled that the release of the Black Ledger was a deliberate attempt to interfere in the US Election. In aid of the Democrat candidate Hillary Clinton.
In April 2019 an investigation was opened in Ukraine to see if Biden 'brought' Lutshenko and the Black Ledger with the threat to block those loan guarantees.
I appreciate that those who keep trying to overthrow Trump are a bit nuts. Not even they though can think this will damage him.
The central allegation doesn't withstand even basic scrutiny.
In July 2019 it's hardly possible to demand an investigation be opened. When the investigation has already been opened back in April 2019.
What the frenzy does though is draw attention to how Joe Biden abused his position as Vice President. To solicit foreign interference in a US election by threatening to withhold aid.
It seems to be more of an effort to find a Democrat 2020 candidate that US allies would be prepared to work with.
With fair coverage you would expect Biden to have withdrawn his candidacy already.
Even with the astonishingly biased coverage we've come all to used too you would still expect it to scruff him up in the polls.
