A Monolingual North American, Presumably.

I can't speak to Bad Bunny's mind, nor am I particularly familiar with Reggaeton. However I am familiar with the English language version of Dancehall, Jungle and Drum n' Bass. I am certain that I and at least another third of the World Famous Throuple find that its very Heterosexual Macho sexual boasting, its misogyny and Homophobia can get really tedious. Particularly when it's the nice middle-class White boy, Ali G, version.
Bad Bunny seems to think that it can get a bit tedious to. The song performed as all those female dancers twerked as the celebrities looked on from the porch of the Casita was; "Yo Perro Sola" (I Twerk Alone). Although sung by a man it's sung in the female voice. It's a woman saying that just because she dances like that for her own enjoyment it doesn't give men permission to do what they like to her. In the video Bad Bunny appears in Drag.
Such is the very aggressive Macho Heterosexual culture of Reggaeton and Latin American culture generally the assumption is that any man who finds that it can get a bit tedious must be a Homosexual. The first full song in Bad Bunny's Super Bowl Half-Time Show 2026 performance, as he's walking the country lanes of Puerto Rico, is; "Tití Me Preguntó" "Auntie Asked Me." It's an older female relative asking Bad Bunny if he's got a girlfriend yet. The real question being whether he's even interested in girls.
When he was at the peak of his career at the start of this millennium Ricky Martin had to downplay his Latin, Hispanic identity and completely hide his Homosexuality. Including him in the Half-Time Show 2026 highlights and protests that. Having him perform on a big Banana plantation, rather than a Sugar plantation was a fun bit of sexual innuendo which highlights that the Colonial Era history of Puerto Rico is the same agricultural history of Brazil and all of The Americas. The two men appearing to have sex in the cab of the pick-up truck was probably taking it too far for a family show.
Reggaeton's Homophobia does make it a prime target for mockery by the Eurovision community. While your sexuality doesn't determine the type of music you like listening to no-one enjoys sitting there being insulted. Through the song; "Ferto" (Bring It) by Akylas Greece did just that. While the Bad Bunny song; "Mónaco" is all about the material riches he's got Ferto is about all the material things he wants. It's President Trump acting like a King, selling out Israel for US$1bn membership for his Board of Peace sham. Akylas is from Serres in Greece's Macedonia Province. Predating the Trojan War it was occupied by the Ottoman Empire between 1383 and 1912. During Nazi occupation its once large Jewish population was sold out to, mainly, the Treblinka Death Camp.
Of course the Eurovision community's very Homosexual Macho sexual boasting itself can get rather tedious. While s with Reggaeton and Dancehall it certainly has its place, if all you want to do is talk about that then things can get pretty boring, pretty fast.

Rather than being rewarded I, personally, think that sort of behaviour should be bonked on the nose with a rolled-up newspaper. However having done the US thing I may as well do the Montenegrin thing.
Montenegro's entry; "Nova Zora" (New Dawn) by Tamara Živkoić was very clear support for Israel and opposition to anyone, such as Russia, being banned. The word; "Nova" comes from the Latin; "Novus" meaning; "New." A meaning it still has in Montenegrin. However in English it has taken on the meaning of a star that burns brightly for a short time.
Certainly at the time of the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest there was a lot of debate within Israel in what to call the Genocide the Hamas began on October 7th 2023 (7/10/23). While it occurred on October 7th that particular October 7th was also a Jewish Sabbath and the holy day of; "Simchat Torah" (Dancing of the Scrolls). So alongside; "Oct.7th" the names; "The Black Sabbath" or the; "Simchat Torah Massacres" have certainly been used by many. Even if they're pretty much meaningless to non-Jews. Some of the most brutal events of that first day of Hamas' Genocide occurred at the Nova Music Festival/Rave. A very Eurovision style play on the people of the star (of David) celebrating the dancing of the scrolls.
Amid continuing housekeeping discussions about how the; "No Overt Politics" rule is enforced Montenegro, thinly, disguised their support for Israel as a sort of call for Feminist revolution in Montenegro. In the video the women are shown as downtrodden housewives who flip the situation on their lazy husbands.
I wouldn't go so far as to describe it as; "Fake Feminism." The support for Feminism is genuine, however it was being used as a sort of mask for the main message. Fake Feminism was certainly something of a theme at the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest.
Luxembourg won the 1965 Song Contest with; "Poupée de cire, poupée de son" (Wax Doll, Rag Doll) performed by Frances Gall but written by Serge Gainsbourg. TV is still a surprisingly new technology, only really entering the consumer market in the 1950's. Teenagers and Pop Music are even newer inventions than that. Particularly in the US Elvis Presley is recognised as the first Popstar. Having released his debut single in 1953.
Poupée de cire, poupée de son explores the then new phenomenon of 13-14 year olds idolising Popstars who are not much older than they are. Not realising that their idols are really just puppets of managers and songwriters who are much older than they are. The Song Contest is primarily a competition of songwriters, so while Frances Gall performed the song everyone knew she was just Serge Gainsbourg's puppet.
The United Kingdom won the 1967 Song Contest, which was also held in Vienna, with; "Puppet on a String" performed by Sandie Shaw. This borrowed heavily from Poupée de cire, poupée de son and plagiarised the 1964 song; "Il faut attendre l'amour" by Zarko Roje. It was done in reference to the Elvis Presley song; "Wooden Heart," itself based on the German folksong; "Muss i den" (Must I Then). Wooden Heart is taken from the soundtrack of the movie; "G.I Blues" (1960). Loosely inspired by Elvis Presley having to interrupt his Popstardom to perform his compulsory military service in West Germany during the Cold War. Puppet on a String seems to accuse West Germany and, to a lesser extent, Austria of being puppets of the Soviet Union. Rather than true allies of NATO.
Israel's 2026 entry; "Michelle" by Noam Bettan overtly references the 2015 Billie Eilish song; "Ocean Eyes." He literally just sings the title of the song. Through the use of the single word; "Carousel" it also references Puppet on a String.
Billie Eilish was discussed at the 2021 Song Contest. However, despite some reference to her Tourettes, that was really only in the context of her being a successful Popstar working the music industry at the time. So Israel overtly referencing it couldn't be interpreted as a political reference. Israel's more coded reference to Puppet on a String makes the point that it's not possible to reference previous Song Contest entries without it being a political reference. The point of the Song Contest is that it is supposed to be political. The rule is that it can't be overtly political, implying that it's meant to be political.
The phenomenon explored by Poupée de cire, poupée de son very much continues within the music industry to this day. At the 2026 Song Contest Estonia was represented by Vanilla Ninja with the song; "Too Epic To Be True." They previously represented Switzerland at the 2005 Song Contest with the song; "Cool Vibes."
Vanilla Ninja appear to be a Feminist, girl-power Pop-Punk band. However they're really the creation of the much older male producer Sven Löhmus. Arguably the most famous "Punk" band The Sex Pistols are a manufactured Pop band. The creation of Malcolm McLaren who discovered Boy George, who represented San Marino at the 2026 Song Contest.
Vanilla Ninja's entry to the 2005 Song Contest was surrounded by a lot of scandal. Estonians were offended that they were representing Switzerland while the Swiss were offended that they were Estonian. The much bigger scandal is that one of the original line-up, Maarja Kivi, had to quit the band after falling pregnant by the band's much older tour manager. Which certainly sounds inappropriate. The scandal forced them to break ties with Sven Löhmus and become the puppets of the much older man David Brandes who, despite being Swiss by birth, is generally considered to be German. Maarja Kivi was replaced by the 15 year old model Triinu Kivilaan whose only qualification was that she looked a lot like Maarja Kivi. Eurovision rules state that people cannot consent to performing in the Song Contest until they are 16 years old. For exactly the reason you're thinking of. The reason why the United Kingdom rarely gets invited to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
The late-1990's/early-2000's really saw a wave of these Fake Feminist Girl-Power bands. Undoubtedly started in 1996 by the Spice Girls, that creation of Simon Fuller. A particularly notable example are the Russia two-piece tATu. Their gimmick was that they weren't just Feminists, they were a teenage Lesbian couple. All lies, made up by Ivan Shapovalov. tATu represented Russia at the 2003 Song Contest with; "Ne ver, ne boysya" (Don't Believe, Don't Fear, Don't Ask).
You can still view all of the details of Luxembourg's 1965 Song Contest entry, the United Kingdom's 1967 Song Contest entry and Switzerland's 2005 Song Contest entry on the official Eurovision website. However the fact you can't view the details of Russia's 2003 Song Contest entry really draws attention to how harsh the ban on Russia is. Although Poland's 2026 Song Contest entry certainly seems to be familiar with tATu's 2003 staging, despite the ban.
This Fake Feminism is very much a hallmark of the current Russophobia. In the form of Pussy Riot and Femen, both of which are the sinister creations of much older men.
The Venice Biennale arts festival recently lifted its own ban on Russia. Prompting a combined protest by Pussy Riot and Femen.
Tamara Živkoić comes from Kotor which was part of Venice between 1371 and 1797, despite the Ottoman Empire's attempts to subjugate it. Prior to its unification in 1871 Italy was actually a series of separate Kingdoms. The Kingdom of Venice, the Kingdom of Sicily, the Kingdom of Naples etc. So it seems unlikely anyone would be that bothered with the misfortune the Kingdom of Milan recently brought upon itself.
The Serene Republic of Venice, as it was known, was rule by a; "Doge." Derived from the Latin; "Dux" meaning; "Leader" it has gone on to become both the name of a Crypto coin and the Elon Musk headed Department of Government Efficiency. Should anyone want to discuss those.
