It is tempting to look at Jan Egeland and the Norwegian Refugee Council's appalling alliance with Hamas. However I think it owes more to a deeper cultural problem which sees the Olympics being taken seriously. 

Norway is a small country but one whose geography lends itself towards winter sports. So it must be very tempting to show-off at one of the few things you excel in. Imagine the shock it a Norwegian team ended up winning a Champions League football match(!)
