There's A 1990's British Newsroom Sitcom Called; "Drop The Dead Donkey."

One of the big jokes is that Stephen Tompkinson's "Damien Day" character won a big news award for his footage of starving children in the Ethiopia Famine by taping a cheese sandwich to his camera.

A joke to some, inspiration to others.
