A Lamborghini Is A Lot Like A Helicopter.

In the sense that from the moment it rolls off the production line its entire purpose in life is to try and kill you.

Obviously the BBC's treating it like a publicity stunt for the Women's Euros. Which should tell you all you need to know about the type of mawkish moron who believes in Women's football.

If it is pratting about then it would be extremely foolish to reward it. However assuming, without foundation, the Iberian peninsula is better than that;

Portugal's 2025 Eurovision entry was unusual, in that it raised a political topic. After last year most everyone else thought they'd be banned for trying that. Like the rest of the handful which dared to raise a topic Portugal buried its topic deep.

Portugal's act was from the tourist island of Maderia. Like most tourist hotspots Madeira doesn't have any young people. They've all migrated away.

Some have been enticed away by pull factors. Launching their music career in the case of this band. Others though have been pushed out by things like an inability to find housing in a market dominated by holiday homes and Airbnb rentals or just boredom.

While the Song Contest host city does receive a tourism boost it flows into Airbnb rentals etc. Rather than the coffers of the host broadcaster who has to pay for the Song Contest.

All Eurovision members have different funding models. However it makes for an artistic metaphor for mechanisms to get tourism revenues flowing into the host communities. Things like tourism taxes.

Rather like the one Liverpool's just implemented.

Of course before I get into that. I've got to research & summarise the entire political history of Brazil. For the First Republic (1899-1930) through to the present.

Which is bound to take a couple of iced lattes, innit.
