A large theme of; "The Brutalist" is Stacy Martin's seemingly stalled career. From the company she keeps she seems to be a very talented actress. However her career seems to have been reduced to the level of Sex Worker due to her early role in; "Nymphomaniac" (2013).

Nymphomaniac involves actual sex. Lots of it. You could describe it as; "Pornography." However the purpose of pornography is to arose and titillate. The sex in Nymphomaniac seems intended more as psychological violence. You can watch it in the original 5½ hour form or as two 2½ hour movies. It's up to you to decide how long the intermission is. The recommendation of this grizzled veteran is to watch neither version. You will continue to see those images of Stacy Martin in your nightmares. Along with in everything else she does.

Incidentally "Vox Lux" (2018) does include a breathless Human Geography analysis of the Industrial Clusters which underpin Sweden's World dominating pop music industry. The younger version in; "The Substance" is played by Margaret Qualley. She was in; "The Leftovers" with her best friend being played by Emily Meade. Judging from all the nude roles I've seen Emily Meade in she doesn't have much of a problem with nudity. The Substances is the first time that Margaret Qualley has done nude scenes. I get the impression she didn't enjoy the experience. A conclusion I happen to agree with.

So I think you were not supposed to be able to immediately tell whether it was Margaret Qualley in that dance number. Or whether it was a body double. Someone who looks just enough like Margaret Qualley but is prepared to do things Margaret Qualley isn't, for less money.

A movie which is definitely male heterosexuality being imposed on gay women. 

When I do the full version I'll assure you that the reality really doesn't live up to the #1 heterosexual male fantasy. Particularly when you actually like and value the other people involved.
