Well. This Is Going To Blow Some Tiny, Little Minds.

I should start by pointing out those holes don't go all the way through the window frame, only the front panel. There was still the rear panel between my sitting room and the outside world. If they did then I would have solved the problem much sooner.
Also I didn't just do nothing. It turns out that if you snap the eyelet from a curtain hook eyelet runner then the runner does a pretty good job of filling a 10mm hole. While being loose enough to let some air in and out.
I have now though applied a more permanent solution.
I brought some 20mm Nylon Machined 10mm countersunk machine fasteners. 10mm wide, 20mm long plastic screws, basically. They screw straight into the 10x20mm holes.
However they do not let air in and out. If that was the result I was going for I would have just glued any old piece of plastic over the holes.
So once I got these screws I drilled a 3x15mm hole in the core of each one. 1x3mm hole through the head. Meeting the 3x15mm hole. I then drilled four 1x10mm holes across the 3x15mm hole. In two 90° crosses.
Meaning that I've now got fully adjustable air vents.
Speaking of; "Being a bit Extra" I also had to buy these directly from a factory in China. The package tracking ran to several scrolls.
In waiting for my very specific trousers to arrive from another factory in China. I may not have carefully enough studied China's General Administration of Customs 16 Communist Thoughts on bringing economic growth to the central provinces by better connecting them to the Belt and Road.
So these screws were dispatched on January 8th (8/1). Then had to wait until January 16th (16/1) to receive customs clearance to leave China. They were then flown into the UK on January 18th (18/1) receiving customs clearance to enter the UK on January 20th (20/1).
They then sat on Evri courier depot until January 22nd (22/1). However that wasn't the "Superstore" style fulfilment centre within the Bishop of Whitgift's estate which suffered a workplace knife attack. Just as Britain was proposing rigorous controls on knife sales by Amazon. Between the Southport knife attacker pleading guilty and being sentenced. As Britain is just desperate to anyone to notice that they still exist.
The screws were delivered to my address on January 22nd (22/1). With the exact last mile delivery tracking very closely resembling my own movements. As I travelled down to Salisbury to visit Mothers. Meaning I didn't actually get to inspect the package until I arrived home on the 24th (24/1).
With both the trousers and the screws I think we were all working under the assumption that any package addressed to me wouldn't be making it through UK Customs intact.
Imagine all the toys all my friends in warzones all over the World could send me. If only it wasn't for UK Customs.
