Unlike with the fall of Afghanistan they could actually see the crushing defeat coming.

Although when Afghanistan fell they weren't actually dumb enough to cheer it.

Of course the security threat is global. However it's far more acute for Iraq, Jordan and Israel. 

It looks like the US will have to take over Israel's security in its entirety. They're clearly no longer capable of defending themselves.
