And I can't say I'm particularly upset about that. My main Christmas stress at the moment is that the pullcord light switch in the laundry house snapped. The one I'd only replaced back at the start of autumn.
It also snapped while in the On position. So I had to take it out, cap and isolate the wires. Although that's the sort of thing which is harder to explain than do. Particularly if you've got an electrician's toolbox.
It's still not the sort of thing you want to have happen just as the shops shut, just as it gets dark on Christmas Eve though.
The ceiling the switch is mounted to has a slight slant to it. So the pullcord rubs against the case, causing it to fray.
We're currently debating whether to replace it with another pullcord switch, a pullchain switch or, my preference, an oversize push switch.
Not that I'm debating it too hard. I didn't even think about it yesterday.
