I Decided To Get A Massage Gun In The End.

The idea being to relieve muscle tension and fatigue built up in the gym. None of which I have at the moment. So I've not really been able to test it.

However the theory of why it might be of some help is pretty sound. It uses percussive impact to increase blood flow. Blood being the fuel supply muscles need to repair themselves. Things like Acupuncture and Cupping all work by increasing blood flow. As does Blood Doping.

Days after activating an Amazon Prime membership I developed a really nasty Cold. The sort of Cold people have when they think they've got the Flu. This even affected my muscle strength to the point that everyday things like washing dishes caused me muscle strain like going to the gym would.

I've still got a bit of a problem area with my right brachipradialis, the muscle running along your forearm from the inside of your elbow to, essentially, your thumb. As this is my dominant arm it's really difficult to rest properly. I'm even slightly using it to type this.

Just five minutes with the massage gun on its lowest setting loosened it right up. Allowing me to realise that the strain caused by the muscle injury means I've probably also strained the cartilage within the elbow joint.

I can make you go weak at the knees just by shaking your hand. So before wondering whether it would do any good I first wanted to check that a massage gun wouldn't do any harm. Although you might not be familiar with the technical terminology you're certainly all familiar with an impacts increasing blood flow. It's called a; "Bruise."

I'm now pretty confident it won't do harm. Unless I do something like bonking myself over the head with it or the battery explodes while recharging.

So I think that was an appropriate thing to buy with a giftcard my retired Physiotherapist mother gave me. Particularly as, waiting until Prime Day, the giftcard also brought a third of an Amazon brand olive green fleece hoodie. Which is unlikely to ever leave the house again.

With the Prime membership now expired that seems to mark an appropriate seasonal shift. From cold, hard outdoor things to warm, cozy indoor things.

Yep. Those were some cheap Chinese screws.

Not that I was expecting the pack to include screws, let alone knock-off Rawlplugs™.
