Given that they're certainly not finding it as exciting as hoped.

Speaking of things that are full of technical terminology while lacking in excitement.

One end of the chain is mounted to a brick pillar on my property with a small padlock and a eye plate. The other end is attached, via a carabiner-style clip, to another eye plate mounted on a wall on my neighbour's property.

Originally that was a breeze/cinder block wall with a brick pillar at the end. However ages ago a car knocked down the brick pillar leaving just the block wall. So I screwed a wooden baton to the blocks in order to mount the eye plate.

Obviously I asked my neighbour's permission before doing that. The conversation started with him telling me that he was going to knock down the wall and replace it, with the brick pillar, in a week or so.

Fitting the chain was the last task of the day, as it was getting dark. The screws which came with the eye plates were useless. I snapped the heads off four of them using a screwdriver powered by nothing more than my own grip strength.

So being a little bit annoyed and thinking the wall wasn't going to last more than a week or so I rushed it. I didn't bother use plastic plugs to secure the screws. As as result it was always going to work itself loose.

Yesterday (10/10) I did it properly with plastic plugs. I still have no intention of it lasting beyond next Spring.
