Yeah, I've Set A Baby Bar Exam.

For what feels like the entire Summer I've been fixing the cracks in the upper part of my driveway, henceforth known as; "Colorado."

I have now finished fixing the cracks. I've still got to finish over that trench I filled with Concrete. However that's really cosmetic rather than structural.

The lower part of Colorado is also Concrete. At least 15 years ago it also started to crack up. So someone decided to completely ignore the Irish side of the family and have it overlaid with Asphalt. "Tarmac" is actually the brand of ballast I've been using to make Concrete.

Unfortunately they didn't take the Concrete up first. Simply laying the Asphalt over the top. Although, to be fair, that is what they were instructed to do. So the Asphalt never bonded properly and almost immediately started to crack and break up into small potholes.

Fixing that is going to be a major pain. After all, the only correct way to lay Asphalt is to get someone else to do it.

The other problem is that the black Asphalt is exactly the same as the public pavement/sidewalk. So some people do honestly mistake it for a public road and invite themselves in.

The other day I was confronted by a delivery rider on his motor scooter hurtling towards me. Which was pretty terrifying for us both.

Whereas other people just take the p'ss.

So I've now put a chain up with a sign reading; "No Entry. Private Property. No Public Right Of Way."

It's only intended to give physical from to the legal barrier. Very much simplifying the equation on this side of things.

Of course the hope is still that it will grow into a gate. I just don't have a gate guy at the moment.

Although I do know how to keep a Stallion out of a Mare's paddock.
