The Stench Of Weekend Desperation Was Rather Strong.

In a detail which up until I've found utterly inane. My house has an enclosed porch. So I actually have two front doors. An inner one and an outer one.

To give you an idea how rarely I use these to enter/exit my house. What must've been over a decade ago the wooden outer door was replaced with a upvc one.

The door came with an internal thumb twist. So the new keys went unseperated, unlabelled and straight into a similarly unlabelled keys.

Last Wednesday (14/8) my father made a scheduled visit to hospital for an Iron infusion. Presumably because some blood test results showed that Britain wanted to draw everyone's attention to yet another area they've locked themselves out.

With the big pile of keys having been uncovered during  the cleaning blitz. This prompted us to, finally, solve the mystery of; "Which of these keys opens the front door?!"

On what I'm sure is a completely unrelated note.

Does anyone remember January's Great Wine Robbery?

During the January sales I got some shoes and sandals with a, like, 70%. Apparently the retailer didn't find that generous enough. So they also threw in a voucher for a free half-case of wine.

Once that case had been delivered I could've closed my account and walked a winner.

However I decided to keep my account open to consider my options.

Their cheapest wine is slightly more expensive than the wine I normally by from the supermarket. However the hard to price quality is so much better. With the vouchers and discounts I had available on Thursday (15/8) that price difference came down to a few, affordable, pounds.

Having just missed the cut-off for next day delivery it turned up, without problems, on Monday (19/8).

They also threw in three free bottles, including one worth about £30. If they keep that up it's definitely worth further experiments.

Even if that might take a while. The amount of wine they seem to think an average person drinks certainly makes me feel a lot better about the amount of wine I actually drink.
