Yep. They're Definitely Friends Now.
The leading candidate for 猫老板 (新的) plus, at least, one of the Foxes.
Unfortunately it's very early in the morning, a morning after I got up, did some work, went to the gym, drank some beer, drank some wine.
I'm also trying to bash this out on a touchscreen. Rather than a keyboard. So I doubt I'll ever be able to it its proper justice.
However.
It's really been a longstanding tutorial in; "Aspiration Vs. Ability."
Within my visual universe there is a tree, full of berries the birds like to eat. On a warm day we get the Parakeets that people like to, falsely, claim Jimi Hendrix released.
Beside this tree there is a rooftop. This is the roof of; "Fox Mansion." However some uncouth Humans like to pretend that between the rooftop and the; "Den" they have this thing known as a; "Shed."
However if you are describing either of these things, for legal purposes. You shall note; Neither of them are, actually, on my property.
Anyway.
Since he was a very little kitten the outgoing 猫老板 has had this aspiration to kill all the birds that feed in the tree.
However. Even before he was kept home during the Pandemic, getting fat. He's lacked the ability to catch any of the birds feeding in that tree.
Yet that aspiration never left him. So he sat there, on that rooftop, still dreaming of the day he'll, finally, be able to catch those darn birdies.
Anyway.
On Saturday (13/7) evening (local) new 猫 and Fox decided to climb to the roof of Fox Mansion. Then new 猫 decided to climb the tree, to kill the birds feeding there.
I'm certainly no Ornithologist. However, for the sake of arguments, I shall describe these as; "About the same size as Parakeets, only with white breast and black tail."
While Fox sat on the roof new 猫 climbed the tree, far higher than old 猫 ever managed. Convinced he was, finally, going to get to kill all those darn birdies.
Then the call went out.
First the entire flock of the, aforementioned, birds retaliated.
Then at least a couple of couples of Magpies joined in.
Then all the Pigeons in the neighbourhood got their licks in.
I think it was only my arrival that called off all the far-flung Seagulls and Gannets, on the way to deliver their own, extra special, sauce.
Anyway.
Since then all we've heard is walks, squawks & mockery.
Just in case anyone was still wondering the origin of the phrase;
"Keeping A Beady Eye."
