It turns out Jennifer Lawrence's phone wasn't hacked. Like many, many others she'd allowed her then boyfriend to store her nudes on his Apple Cloud account. A password protected account that wasn't able to withstand a brute-force attack.

Something which is the cyber-security equivalent of leaving Facebook open on your work computer while you go to the toilet.

Which seems a bit harsh.

Although probably not as harsh as all those people who got to see Jennifer Lawrence fully nude, whether they liked it or not.

A small group of very rich people who own the infrastructure got together and decided this is the rule we have to live by now. Not only didn't we tell them to introduce that rule we probably don't even know who they are.
