Although Hamas may be a military organisation rooted in ideas such as Political Islam, Colonialism and Anti-Semitism which are harder to defeat.

However you can certainly deny those ideas bodies to occupy and weapons to hold. As happened in Europe in the 1940's. It took almost 80 years for those ideas to rise again to the point where they presented any sort of threat.
