Yep. I Learned That Lesson The Hard Way.

Obviously I got a bit involved in; "Operation: My Brother's Keeper" in the summer of 2014. I then went full tilt into the war against ISIL & associated groups in Syria & Iraq.

Finding myself too busy to do things like take rest days, go to the gym, maintain a proper diet etc.

Fast forward to the summer of 2016. When I found myself in a Doctor's office during a routine physical. Discussing how when someone's got Blood Pressure as high as mine. UK Doctor's are kind of under a legal obligation to admit them to hospital.

So I only hope Israelis are able to learn from my mistakes.

Although it may be the hardest thing you ever do. It's really important to switch off from the war every now and then.

For me that means sleeping. I do love sleeping. However for you it might be something like going to the gym, having a spa day, getting a massage. Whatever.

Obviously I don't want to get religious about it.

However turning the TV news and the social medias off at sunset. Then not turning them back on until sunset on the following day. That might not be a completely terrible idea.

Just don't all pick the same day. That'll be the day Hamas try and make the Red Alert app dance off the table.

If you are lucky enough to be able to take a break from the war. Don't feel guilty about it. Take it.

You might be needed to carry someone who isn't so lucky.
