That they don't even need to go to the effort of trying to make their lies seem remotely believable.

It is also what is so epic about "Operation: Thunderbolt." 

That even knowing something about the actual story. Every time I rewatch either of the movies, for the millionth time. The jeopardy has me on the edge of my seat.
