Yay! I Can Finally Feel My Tennis Elbow Again!

https://twitterwithbraincells.blogspot.com/2023/08/yeah-thats-better-reason.html

As I think we've all established. I'm not Jewish. So I'd hate to go on about it.

However. I've been led to believe that even Black Lives Matter activists can achieve; "Sunburn." If they were ever to apply themselves, really, really hard.

So. Imagine the worst sunburn you've ever had. Then times it by about a million.

Then imagine you've got drunk and decided to kick the very Sun itself.

Then the Sun's decided to prove to you what an idiot you been. By grabbing hold of your foot. Then refusing to let it go, for the next several days.

Despite the profits of the Sackler Clan. There is nothing that can make that sort of pain go away.

Not even the Medical department disowning you to the Surgical department. Then the Surgical department disowning you to the Physio department.

With the NHS still being whiny little b'tches, who refuse to let you write your own prescriptions. All you you can do is take very high doses of NSAID's (Ibuprofen). In the hope that the eventual reduction in inflammation will, eventually, led to the pain subsiding.

In the UK you are legally forbidden from buying more than 9,600mg of Ibuprofen in an single purchase.

As if you take more than 9600mg in any ~24hr period. Then you will have taken an Ibuprofen overdose. Condemning youself to the long, painful, certain death of Liver Failure.

Even without the Ibuprofen. That much pain puts your body under a lot of physical stress. So you also get to enjoy High Blood Pressure, Erratic Heartbeat and the type of Nausea that comes from your stomach being flooded with hormones like Cortisol.

Of course that is all below the level of requiring medical supervision. Let alone calling for a 'free' ambulance to take you to a hospital.

I'm just really, really happy that's no longer happening to me.

I'll be even happier if it doesn't magically start happening to me again tomorrow.

Anyway. Attempting to return to my point.

The human brain has something of a Pain-Gating system. Meaning you can only feel one, normally the most extreme, pain at any one time.

So it's actually a good thing. When you start to realise how much your gums, eyes, ears, jaw also hurt.

It was just merrily yesterday I remembered I've got a wee bit of tendonitis in my left elbow.

After the last week or so. I'd completely forgotten about that.

Which is a bit of a worry. With that type of injury pain is actually a good thing.

It's the body's way of informing your brain that whatever it's just done is incredibly stupid.

So best it stops doing it.
