At some point recently prior to that. I stepped out to buy a newspaper from the local Convenience Store/Bodega/Newsagents.

The one on the 'Dnipro.' Right by where I was, once, so grateful to hand that wee fecking Houdini off to some kindly grandparents, who were passing by. 

Mainly as it meant I wouldn't have to explain how I came to find myself surrounded by police officers. While clutching an infant that, clearly, wasn't mine.

Anyway, as I entered the store a customer was being served at the counter. Judging by his style of dress, general demeanour and, frankly, odour. He had some sort of significant mental health issue.

A dispute arose, I've still no idea why. Prompting said 'customer' to attempt to make off without paying. As the shopkeeper stood in his way he tried, and failed, to charge him.

So I put a reassuring hand on their shoulders.

It turns when it's one-on-one everyone wants to fight. When it's two-on-one suddenly, in a second, everyone needs to take a quick account of themselves.

Even then I wasn't paying much attention. 

However I think the shopkeeper was happy with him smashing up the very low value items he was attempting to steal and leaving them on the floor. So let him leave. It wasn't by place to detain him further.

I then briefly spoke to the shopkeeper as I paid for my purchases. I think he thanked me for helping. I think I told him not to worry about it as I actually enjoy that sort of thing.

Obviously that was a joke. However that was my job for about 10 years. So that sort of situation is well within my comfort zone.

Honestly. I'd pretty much forgotten about it by the time I'd left the shop. Certainly by the time I'd, finally, managed to wash the stink off my hand.

Seriously though.

If you're all working so hard. To pay to keep her sleeping in a feather bed. While a Marine is forced to deal with the absolute effluent that keeps escaping her mouth.

Then, under stress. A Marine is going to do what a Marine was trained to do.

So, America?

Are you actually going to be putting up with that absolute f'cking Third World sh't for much longer.
