Governments dictating what price can be paid in a transaction between two private entities.

I know NATO want to return to the misery of the Keynesian Consensus and the Cold War as they're too incompetent to cope with the modern world.

What I really don't understand is why they would want to model themselves on the side that didn't some much lose the Cold War as just imploded due to their insane ideology.
