When it comes to grid-scale electrical distribution networks. The contrast between Nigeria and South Africa is rather interesting.

Nigeria has never had a grid-scale electrical distribution network.

Whereas South Africa has long had a First World standard electrical grid. It's just that under Apartheid it was only designed to serve a very small section of the population.

Now Apartheid is over and that electrical grid has been expanded to all South Africans. It's constantly getting overloaded and breaking down.

While another legacy of Apartheid is that South Africa still has huge wealth inequality. Which is bound to be Triggering to those who still subscribe to the intellectual dross of Critical Race Theory.

I though have always been more interested in how that wealth inequality drives people to steal metal from the Transformers. Further crashing the network and, often, killing themselves in the process.
