Yeah, I've Been To See My Mothers.

You may remember that just before the delayed 2021 Tokyo Olympics. I was planning to go on a bit of a holiday with my mother, my sister and the various horses under their care.

The culmination of a several month long, complex in-joke. About the Cavalletti method of horse training. The one pioneered by Reiner Klimke, winner of the Men's Gold in Dressage at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics.

Then it all had to be cancelled. Due to my father being in hospital.

This year I was planning to have a similar holiday with my mother, sister and the horses. In the week leading up to the Glastonbury Festival and the G7 Summit.

Something which seemed to trigger feelings of inadequacy amongst, particularly, Boris Johnson and Justin Trudeau.

Unfortunately that had to be cancelled. Due to train strikes.

Which was very annoying. In the intervening year my mother and sister have progressed the spirited young paint from Backing to actual Cavalletti.

On Wednesday (10/8) through to today (12/8) I finally got to give my mother's horse a couple of good rides out (hacks). Starting early and finishing by noon at the latest.

Not that we could do much. Due to the ground being so dry and, therefore, hard. Not only were we worried about the horse's health. We were worried about the shoes setting off sparks and starting grass fires.

Plus. It's never as much fun, when the riders outnumber the horses.

Meanwhile my sister, her friend and all of their horses have been forced out of their field. Near where the 2022 adaptation of; "Why Didn't They Ask Evans?" was filmed.

Due to Ragwort. Which is deathly poisonous to horses.

So, the moment, no-one's quite sure who owns which horse. Let alone where they all are. As they engage in the equine equivalent of couch surfing.

As I'm sure Miley Cyrus, Kendall Jenner and Kaley Cuoco well know. Or, at least, the people who actually look after their horses well know.

It's always some drama with horses.

And that drama immediately sounds like the most outrageous sexual innuendo.

And yes, there are optical communications. And no, I'm won't be showing them to you.
