Q. Why's The Olympics Like Miley Cyrus?

A. We've all seen them both pay out absolute fortunes. Just to come round my house.

It was in 2005. That Britain was awarded the privilege of hosting the 2012 Summer Olympics.

This was to be held in the capital, London. In. essentially, my mothers' backyard. They actually had to delay their big move to Salisbury. Due to you really not being allowed to bring trucks within mortar range of an Olympic stadium.

It was in 2006. That Britain made the courageous move. Of completely withdrawing from reality. Retreating into a world of cures for lung cancer, leadership in mental health care and world domination. In the field of geriatric healthcare.

Fifteen years later. Absolutely none of those things have happened. Not only that, Britain has sustained severe damage. I'm talking percentage points of GDP damage.

In many ways. COVID-19 was just Britain's last 15 years of life. Played out in a really intense 15 months.

As a longstanding, close ally. You would think America would now be pleading, with all its might. For Britain to, at least, try to reconnect with reality.

Unfortunately America has also completely withdrawn from reality. 

Retreating into a world where Joe Biden was elected President. Where we'd all be so dazzled and mystified by Miley Cyrus' menstrual cycle. That we'd immediately drop to our knees, in worship of the new saviour. Joe Biden.

If you remember my work with Zimbabwe and China. Helping Robert Mugabe to re-tyre. Then you would know that this is an issue of global significance.

Not so much the rise of China. As the complete retreat of the West.

So it certainly looked likely to be one of the major themes of the 2020 Summer Olympics.

In reality. The best way to discuss this would have been Team GB and Team USA simply retreating, or refusing to participate.

Team USA did do a little bit of this. 

With Simone Biles withdrawing from multiple events. Citing; 'Mental Health Issues' which made it hard for her to connect with reality.

Which also helped to raise the issue of Team USA's rampant drugs cheating. 

Although it is significantly lower than that of Team USA's Women's Basketball squad. Simone Biles' industrial consumption of Amphetamines has always put her at increased risk of Psychosis.

Then there was Connor Fields. Who made such a mess on the BMX track he put himself in Intensive Care (ICU) for several days.

Team GB, however, continued to remain complete oblivious.

Leaving it to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to point out to them. That they were not even attempting to participate in the 2020 Summer Olympics.

There's really a wide variety of reasons why they could have been disqualified. Although I think clerical errors on their applications forms would be most fitting. 

After all.

If there is a way to discuss. How refusing to participate inevitably leads to failure. By showering non-participants with medals and acclaim.

Then I don't know what that way is.

Obviously.

The IOC's decision not to go ahead with the 2020 Olympics has caused some follow up problems.

What tends to happen at an Olympics. Is that all nations gather together, to shout out their main issues of the day.

It almost goes without saying. That some nations end up shouting out the same issue.

That handful of issues are then brought forward to the Para-Olympics. Where they are discussed in granual, quantum detail.

With the IOC effectively banning discussion of, what I think, is one of the main issues of the day. I don't see how the Para-Olympics can happen.

Until the IOC first publish their action plan.

Addressing the scandal of however non-participants were able to gain access to Olympic venues.
