Seems the height of understatement when talking about an international dispute that has lasted for at least a quarter of a century.

However Azerbaijan's position has long been that the NKR is part of their country.
They have a, perhaps rushed, international treaty giving legal force to that claim.
Due to their oil wealth Azerbaijan has a vastly superior military.
So the challenge has always been coming up with reasons to stop Azerbaijan from just re-taking NKR. A responsibility that has long fallen exclusively to Russia.
Recently Turkey has been using that responsibility to exert pressure on Russia over Syria. Winding the Azeris up and urging them on.
Legally backing and overwhelming force sounds similar to my position in dispute with Britain. So during Brexit patience just seems to have run out.
I don't think either the Armenian government or the Armenian military had much of a say in the matter.
