Packingham v North Carolina (2017) held that social media is a public forum where Constitutional protections apply.

Knight First Amendment Institute v Trump (2017) built on this. Holding that blocking a user's access to that public forum is a First Amendment violation.

Particularly when it relates to public officials and political dissent.

This is why we talk about the law being a double-edged sword. Rather than a dumb cudgel.

You may introduce something to beat people you disagree with into submission.

But never forget. It can also be used to take your head off too.

And speaking of areas where you clearly need to further your reading.

It turns out the Constitution doesn't just end with Article IV.
