I've Been Missing the Gym.

Normally my exercise routines are the most boring thing in the world.

Seriously. I'm normally thinking about something else. Whilst doing it.

What I normally do is about six weeks. I then take a week off. To let all the connective tissue rest and the not quite yet injuries sort themselves out.

I was in one of those rest periods when I came down with. Well, whatever that was.

As I said, the main symptom was extreme fatigue. Where you can almost feel the energy being stripped from all the cells in your body.

On March 29th (29/3/20) I went back to the gym.

It's probably more of an old wives tale, rather than something supported by scientfic evidence. I though have found this to be the best way to deal with the lethargy you get at the end of any bout of illness.

It normally works like a sort of magic bullet. The next day that lethargy is gone. When it would normally linger for a week to ten days.

The trick though is hitting the sweet spot.

If you wait too long the lethargy will have disippated on its own.

If you go too soon it just makes things worse.

I think it's fair to assume that on this occasion I went to soon.

Plus I think I picked up an opportunistic bacterial infection. Just in case you were still wondering why Americans are also treating SARS-CoV-2 patients with Z-Pack antibiotics.

Nothing serious. Just enough green gunk coming out of my nose to make aerobic exercise seem particularly unattractive.

Really though I've just been a bit tired. Almost as if my body has realised the energy that had been stripped from my cells needs replacing.

I'm also like the hungriest person in the world. Yesterday (6/4/20) I went through around 6,000 calories. Still didn't feel full.

So rather than going back to the gym I've just been pottering about a bit.

The next section of my FEARS coverage really focuses on minimising the impact on society as a whole. I would have thought it's pretty obvious how you do that.

You simply don't implement a lockdown.

You don't forcibly confine your entirely healthy workforce to their sickbeds.

I mainly spent yesterday updating my Mp3 player.

I'd tell you with what.

But it would probably only make it worse.
