Penance is Inescapable.

For I have a confession to make.

My relationship with my mothers has always been somewhat strained. Due to the enthusiasm with which they pass sensitive information to Britain. Britain is now being forced to face up to the fact much of that information is wrong.

It is in this context I texted one of my mothers today. Apparently due to the fact I can't afford to use WhatsApp you couldn't have contacted me.

Yesterday (24/2/20) she was admitted to hospital. A result of the dog attack she suffered last Tuesday (18/2/20).

Bacteria from the dog bites have caused a bacterial infection. Including a rather rather spectacular skin rash. It is being treated with broad spectrum antibioitics and she is expected to be discharged tomorrow (25/2/20).

This has given Wiltshire constabulary another bite of the cherry as it were. That infection now provides a clear forensic link to the dog and its owner.

NHS safeguarding policy means that it is not a question of my mothers choosing to report the matter to the police or not. It is the hospital's legal duty. One thing we did learn from the Caroline Flack case.

However I challenged my mothers' reticence by appealing to their sense of civic duty.

Pointing out that it's extremely likely that the police already know who this irresponsible person is. And that any society which allows someone like that to walk free will only suffer as a result.
