I've often thought that cricket is the ultimate metaphor for life.
In the centre you've got the gladiatorial battle between bowler and batsman.
However the bowler is never truly on their own. They have their ten team mates poised to catch the batsman out.
This series could well be the perfect metaphor for the discussion over what to do with captured members of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
