Britain's Admitted it's at Fault.

On Friday (19/7/19) Iran seized the Stena Impero tanker in the Strait of Homuz.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the busiest shipping lanes in the World. The busiest for oil & gas freight.

As a result it operates a Traffic Separation Scheme (TSS). Under the United Nations (UN) Convention on the Law of the Sea.

The purpose is to prevent all those tankers crashing into each other. Exploding and sinking.

Basically ships enter the strait on the Iranian side. Then exit on the Omani side.

Yesterday (20/7/19) the UK Foreign Secretary confirmed what was obvious from the independent, publicly available, satellite tracking data.

Today (21/7/19) Britain further confirmed this in a letter to the UN Security Council.

The Stena Impero was entering the strait on the Omani side. In violation of the TSS.

Which is the maritime equivalent of driving the wrong way up a motorway.

Funnily enough it was pulled over by the police.
