Today Is A New Day.
June 11th 2019 (11/6/19).
My Twitter account is still frozen. On the grounds that I urged Sky News, as an inanimate object, to commit suicide.
This is the sort of disordered thinking which makes me concerned about the mental status of Twitter employees. It reminds me of my experience advocating at Mental Health Tribunals.
People with severe mental illness are sometimes denied basic civil rights. Such as the rights to freedom and to make decisions about their medical treatment. These rights are enshrined in law. Therefore their removal is not something a private corporation can do on a whim.
Instead they can only be removed under a process which is also enshrined in law. Due Process as it's known. Mental Health Tribunals exist as a way for an individual to challenge the decision to remove civil rights from them.
This wasn't one of my cases. However I do know someone who at one of these Mental Health Tribunals was once called upon to, almost literally, act as the Devil's Advocate.
They had to advocate on behalf of someone who believed themselves to be the Devil. They also believed that as the Devil they should kill themselves in order to rid the World of evil.
Explaining why the Tribunal had ruled against him and the Devil should not be allowed to kill himself was quite the challenge.
It was based around the idea that the Tribunal Panel was made up of Angels. Appointed by God to protect good in the World. They decided that good could not exist without the Devil and his evil. Therefore they had forbidden the Devil from killing himself in order to preserve good in the World.
In short the Devil is loved. The Devil is valued. There are people who will miss the Devil when he's gone. They tend to vote Democrat.
Essentially the Devil was sat down with an Animist, Taoist Ying Yang symbol to contemplate. This famous symbol shows the balance of forces in the Universe. Light & Dark, Good & Evil, Hot & Cold etc.
So I suppose Animists such as Buddhists and Taoists might be prepared to entertain Twitter's argument that inanimate objects could be urged to commit suicide.
However Twitter's business model is based on the idea that it can enslave electrons.
So I think even Burmese and Sri Lankan Buddhists are likely to be looking at Twitter and be stunned by it's extremist views.
